Why We Created Crowd Scout
Talent is everywhere. Opportunity isn’t.
I know that because I was one of those children.
Growing up, I had sporting talent and the ambition to do something with it. What I didn’t have was a pathway to be seen.
My mother raised me on her own. She worked hard, but she simply didn’t have the time or money to take me around the country to trials, academies, competitions or the places where someone might have spotted my ability and helped nurture it.
So, like millions of young people, I was left wondering: what if someone had seen me?
That experience stayed with me.
Because the uncomfortable truth about sport is that talent alone has never guaranteed opportunity. Young athletes from families with greater resources can often access better coaching, facilities, academies, travel and exposure. For others, geography and circumstance can determine whether their talent is ever noticed at all.
Crowd Scout was created to change that.
Today, almost every young aspiring athlete has access to something my generation never had: a camera and a connection to the world.
Crowd Scout turns that camera into a window of opportunity.
An athlete can capture their performance, upload it and put their ability onto a sporting stage designed specifically for talent discovery. The crowd helps surface exciting performances, while scouts gain another way to discover talent beyond the places they can physically be.
We cannot promise every child a professional sporting career.
But we can give every aspiring athlete the opportunity to be seen.
Whether you come from an academy or an estate, a major city or a small town, a wealthy family or one struggling to make ends meet, your circumstances should not determine whether your talent gets a chance.
That is why I created Crowd Scout.
